19 Regina Three Storey Office Building

Witzel Dyce was the responsible for the design of the renovation and addition to an existing brick and beam building. The scope of work included a structural review and retrofit of the existing building structure to convert the existing building to Class A office space.
Major alterations included new/reopening of existing windows in the exterior façade, a new rooftop boardroom and patio, a new lobby, elevator and entrance feature and underpinning of the foundations to lower the ground floor. The structure was reinforced to accommodate concrete floor toppings and the roof top amenities.
8 Queen Street – Vidyard Office

Witzel Dyce was responsible for the design of the renovation and a third-floor addition to an existing brick and beam building. The scope of work included a structural review and retrofit of the existing building structure to convert the existing building to Class A office space.
Major alterations included a new third floor extension, a roof top patio, a new elevator shaft and stair shaft, and new entrance off of Goudies Lane. Structural bracing was added to improve the lateral performance of the building. Witzel Dyce was also heavily involved in producing shop drawings and reviewing the support of many interior architectural features which made this project unique.
Hanson Heritage Barn Conversion
Kitchener, ON
This Heritage Barn was rehabilitated and converted into a residential dwelling unit. The floors were reinforced to support a new concrete topping and the end wall framing was removed to provide wall to wall glass.
The Imperial Renovation and Restoration
New Hamburg, ON
A renovation and addition to an existing three storey masonry and wood framed building originally constructed over 120 years ago. The scope involved a full demolition of the interior finishes to accommodate the extensive structural restoration and reinforcing. New vaulted ceilings and floor toppings were added to create modern residential units. The three-storey addition accommodated a ground floor commercial space with two storeys of residential suites above. Witzel Dyce Engineering Inc. was retained to provide structural design services.
